Few authors could be a better fit for a book party at the Half-King — owned by Sebastian “The Perfect Storm” Junger — than Jon Bowermaster. An explorer and adventure writer for more than two decades, Bowermaster has crossed Antarctica via dog sled, sailed the seven seas and generally been the definition of swashbuckling (he even looks the part). Tonight he celebrates the publication of his latest book, “Descending the Dragon,” about a five-week, 800-mile kayak trip through Vietnam.
